Généralités

Les auxiliaires modaux permettent d’exprimer la capacité, la probabilité, la permission, l’obligation, etc.

Caractéristiques des modaux :

  • Un modal n’a pas de « s » à la 3ème personne du singulier.
  • Un modal n’est jamais suivi de « to ».
  • Un modal suivi d’un infinitif passé (have + participe passé) sert à exprimer un point de vue sur le passé
